I get it. I’ve been there.


I spent decades teaching self-protection around the world—special forces, law enforcement, and civilians. I fought, I coached, I performed. I also burned out. I got sick. I got disillusioned.

What I’ve come to realise is this:

The deepest form of self-protection is not simply about learning how to physically fight, it’s also about how you choose to live. This 5-day intensive is a distillation of everything I’ve learned—from the streets of Johannesburg to my quiet recovery here on the Isle of Man. It’s a space to train seriously but sanely. A space to reconnect to your own inner strength, without needing to be constantly seen to be tough in order to survive the modern world. A space to protect not only your body, but your dignity, presence, and peace of mind.

What You Can Expect

Over the course of 5 full days and 6 nights, we’ll train together on the mat and explore my magnificent island through reflective conversation. This is a full-spectrum, real-world training experience. But it’s also something deeper: a return to the kind of self-trust and calm confidence that doesn’t need to shout. This isn’t about “becoming a fighter” it’s about becoming harder to harm, without hardening your heart.

What We Will Cover

Inner Defense

Tools and strategies to regulate your nervous system. Training for your mind to meet stress and threat calmly. Develop embodied awareness and grounded responses to conflict. 

Outer Defense

Learn boundary setting, verbal de-escalation, and presence under pressure. Train real-world physical self-protection (without ego or fantasy). Understand real-world interpersonal violence without over romanticising it.

Edged-Defense

Practical, honest training for knife threats—what works, what’s myth
Ethical decision-making under pressure. Movement skills that don’t only work for the “young and fast.”

Integration

Morning training, afternoon reflections. Deep conversations around fear, calm, and clarity, and crucially, how to live the philosophy of the Mindful-Warrior.

You’ll have space to breathe. To think. To reconnect to your body and what matters most. We’ll train indoors and outdoors, move between practical drills and philosophical reflection.
